Wow, what an amazing time we had! We want to thank everyone who joined our annual Kick-Off Van Wingerden Greenhouse tour. We started at 9:30 am with coffee, tea and yummy muffins from Woods Coffee.
After an inspiring presentation from Tanya Carvalho, Ball FloraPlant/Selecta Territory Manager for Canada and Manda Vuksanaj, Ball FloraPlant/Selecta Territory Manager West Coast & Midwest, two groups were formed and the tour began. We visited the patching line and then closely examined how patching is done on our automated TTA CombiFix. The automated sowing line was then demonstrated followed by an extensive presentation by our talented 10+ sticking team … who expertly placed each cutting into both the 102-split and 50 areoplug liners. We entered Stage 2 and 3 (Staging and Shipping) while Dean Oostra (Head Grower) and Len Van Wingerden (Operational Manager) answered questions regarding the growing process. We finalized the tour in B1 (Germ) and A1 (Liners second stage).
